Basketball Australia Community Coaching Accreditation. Basketball Australia Community Coaching Course is now available online or face to face. SA Country Basketball offer two forms of the Community Coach Accreditation. Game Day Coach- Domestic Coaches, first time coaches. Each course runs between 60-90 minutes and is available for delivery on court or online.
The current accreditation structure for basketball coaches in Australia is as follows: Community Coach – recommended for all coaches before commencing interaction with players. Club Coach – recommended for club level coaches and novice representative coaches. Association Coach – recommended for established representative coaches and NITP coaches . Performance Coach – recommended for coaches in Basketball Australia’s national team programs.

Each participant also needs to complete the online and free BA Community Accreditation before being eligible for the Club Coach course. How much is it? To attend a BA Club Coach Course and receive a Basketball Australia accreditation, the participant needs to register online and pay a fee of $100 for adults or $70 for students and minors under 18.
Adapted for the school setting, Aussie Hoops introduces students to basketball with a nationally accredited coaching curriculum and a program consisting of warm-up games, skill activities and modified games all delivered by accredited coaches. Basketball Australia has assembled a network of experienced, passionate local coaches from clubs and associations who will deliver Aussie Hoops programs in your school.
Basketball throughout Australia relies on dedicated volunteers to teach people how to play the game and compete. We recognise there is a need to support these volunteers with high quality, consistent, accessible training. This is fundamental to the development of players, coaches, pathways in sport and of the game in Australia.
Coaches must hold a current accredited as part of their 'Coaching License'. A 'Coach License' is a two part qualification made up of one of the 5 accreditation levels, as well as a current Blue Card and is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. All of our coaching accreditations are now managed through the OwnUrGoal platform.
